Today's game has became a bit of a rivalry in previous seasons. One which Houghton have came on top for the past few games. Club Swan missed the likes of Niall Lawson, Lee Mooney & Kris England which gave players in our strong squad to prove there worth and that they did. The first half began with Club Swan dominating possession and snuffing Houghton out whenever they had the ball. Chris Rizza in midfield won every challenge and at the back Rory Bryant, Neil Fensome & Steve Williams cleaned everything up. Club Swan looked dangerous on the attack also with wing backs Luke Whitby & Tom Mcmahon joining every attack. Club Swan had many chances through set pieces but when Ryan Hawkes was brought down in the box by The Houghton keeper, well everyone was waiting for the referee to point to the spot! Nope, probably one of the worst decisions I've seen but he waived for a goal kick. Houghton went 0-1 up through a long range effort that took everyone by surprise. Club Swan lost there heads for a moment as they found themselves behind while dominating. Luke Whitby levelled through an outstanding placed header and got his team rolling again. Daniel Blackman put the Swan's 2-1 up from his free kick that hit the wall eventually came back to him on the edge of the area and with his second attempt nestled it into the bottom corner. Camron Nagle made it 3-1 with absolute beauty of a goal, personally & great team work. From Houghton's corner we cleared our lines, worked down the left and when David Hanson-Gittens found Camron With a cross field pass, Cam volleyed it over the Houghton keeper who had no chance.

Second half,

Club Swan was determined to not let this lead slip and started the half as they left the first. Houghton were looking stronger in the attack but meant they left holes in behind. Camron Nagle made it 4 after worming through down the left and sneaking the ball in the bottom corner. The half carried on more of the same and with Houghton's back four exposed with them trying to push on, David Hanson-Gittens broke free and shot early and made it 5-1. Houghton did get another goal back, through a very weak penalty decision. Gareth Kellman came on in the last ten minutes to give Houghton hell and that he did when he tapped in to extend the lead to 6-2. Great Club Swan performance, great attitude, great work rate. We kick on from here, well done lads
