LSC Reds 3 vs Think Sport 3

The boys started each qtr very slowly in today's match against Think Sport Thunder. Perhaps it was due to the step up in caliber of the opponents or the excitement of their new kits getting the better of them and hindering their mindset during warmup. Whatever the reason, as the teams biggest fan it was difficult for me to watch as I know what these special bunch of lads are capable of when they are on song. Despite the slow start the end of every qtr we ended on top. On a couple of occasions we were on the break steaming towards goal as the whistle blew. The final qtr was no different and we could have grabbed a few goals as we peppered Think Sports goal with shots going over or just wide. Despite not being at our best, hand on heart I believe we deserved to walk away victorious and their managers body language and sigh of relief as the final whistle was blown showed me he knew they had gotten a lucky result against the boys in red today.

Brilliant to see Josh and Toyo back in the fold and both showing how valuable they are to the team with a strong performance from them. Josh pulled out some great saves and aggressive tackles as the last line of defence. Toyo putting in a shift with some great break up play and tough tackles of his own.

Congratulations to Aiden for being named captain this week and as always never fails to deliver a good performance. He kept us solid whenever he was on the pitch and thrived on being today's team captain.

Keyaan has grown into the defensive role and has once again impressed me with a solid performance and his ability to read the the game in front of him popping up everywhere on our own half where he was needed.

Kean, Colby and Renan were at wars this morning picking up knocks before and during the match but the boys desire to want to be involved and play on is great to see as their coach.

Ashton continued his strong start to the season with another solid performance. I am gutted for him he didn't get the goal he so desired.

Congratulations to Jordan for winning man of the match today. I said last week that his willingness to run with the ball with speed and purpose at times takes the pressure off the team and he demonstrated just that today breaking away and bagging a couple of goals in the process.

Well done LSC Reds! Another week unbeaten.
