It was a hastily arranged friendly due to adverse weather forcing the usual league game to be called off that saw the Roma boys pitted against a high level U8s River Jnr side that are sitting unbeaten in their league. The team selection was tough with all the boys showing themselves worthy in the midweek training session.

The first threat on goal was Rivers who ran through on goal with the only thing stopping them being a world class save from Keeper Sam Done. The game developed into an end to end masterclass of attacking football when a ball played through to Harry Stephen's went out for a corner. Harry stepped up for the corner and whipped it in with absolute venom which deflected in off the keeper to make it 1-0.

Some great end to end football ensued with River getting a great equaliser followed by a further goal making it 1-2. It was down to Alfie at centre back to mop up all of the pressure early in the second half but even with his excellent play River added a 3rd with a long shot on goal that bounced awkwardly and defeating Sam in goal.

The game continued with Kaden making several bouncing runs and some excellent passes from Evan through the middle saw Roma get close to getting back in the game.

With 7 minutes to go the boys found another level of energy and proceeded to dominate the attack with a run from Harry who made an inch perfect pass to Joe Furlong who slotted home to make it 2-3. With the game dying it was again a battle from Ryan and Harry with Shea making a blistering run with the ball eventually dropping to the fox in the box Kudzai for a trademark poachers goal. 3-3.

With the game at its final moments River had a fantastic attack and their striker hit the ball sweetly into the bottom corner only for an incredible save from Sam to deny them the winner.

The game ended 3-3 and the spoils shared.

A great game for Roma against a superb River side.

MoM - Ryan who was in the form of his life.
