Roma U11s returned to action this week in the Cup quarter final against a JJ Bilbao side who frustrated Roma last time out.

With a poor record (1L, 1D) at Flinders Street this season, the scene was set for a potential banana skin.

The usual slow start again by Roma U11s lead to an early chance for Bilbao which was scuffed wide of Stevie's post.

A scrappy few minutes followed with the best chance coming from distance by Foley which went wide.

Superb Brazilian feet by Dan on the touchline played through to Connor who put Dylan in on goal, he stayed strong against the Bilbao centre half and fired into the back of the net. 1-0 Roma!

A short corner from Dan to Dylan, the Bilbao fullback came in strong but Dylan turned sharply and shot from outside the box and into the far top corner. 2-0 and a first half brace for Dylan.

A big chance for Bilbao after some sloppy play at the back led to the Bilbao forward squeezing the ball past a rushing Stevie but the ball was cleared off the line by Foley.

Superb work down the left with quick passing amongst Dan, Connor and Dylan. Riley gathered the ball and worked hard in the middle allowing Shay to strike over from distance.

Bilbao were allowed to go one on one from a free kick but Stevie was quick to react and saved well.

A great goal kick by Foley put Dylan through on goal but he fired narrowly wide from outside the box.

Half time and the U11s were 2 goals to the good. Not the time to switch off though as Bilbao came from behind last time to get the draw.

A powerful drive by Dylan down the right who unselfishly played across the face of the goal for Callum to finish. 3-0!!

Excellent work by Caff on the right holding the ball well, played in Callum who squared to Gibbo and there was no way he was missing from there as he finds the back of the net. 4-0!!

A rare effort from Bilbao deflected onto the bar and out for a corner which came to nothing.

The Bilbao keeper saved well again from Gibbo. He kept Bilbao from being on the end of a double digit scoreline today!

Roma, 5-0 to the good, began to get complacent, allowing Bilbao to find themselves one on one but Noah saves well. Heads seemed to be strangely going as game management went out the window. Too many players wanting to rush forward and this almost allowed Bilbao through again but for Alfie to mop up so well at the back.

Another top save from the Bilbao keeper prevented Dylan from getting his third of the morning.

The game came to a close and Roma progressed to the semi finals. 5-0.
