With head Coach Pato already having a mid-season break with current top scorer Daniel and U11 secretary Lauren joining him, it was left to Assistant Coach David to step in.
What felt like Summer in October, the boys worked hard early on but couldn’t break down a stubborn Mags Fire.
A corner kick with venom whipped in from Mags and caught Roma sleeping, the ball flew straight in the net and an undeserved lead to Mags.
Heads dropped a little but the lads saw out the first half and kept it to just the one goal.
The 2nd half began where the first half ended with lots of good battles right across the pitch. Everyone gave there all into every challenge and you could see just how hard the lads were working.
A goal line scramble could somehow not be converted by Caff and tensions continued to grow.
A well timed ball from Connor to the dominant Callum allowed a perfectly executed through ball to Lucas who slotted away excellently to level the game.
Another corner for Mags led to some wild shooting and great blocking but an unfortunate deflection found its way I to the net and the lads must have wondered just how things weren’t going there way.
The boys pressed and pressed and began to become more dominant, dealing with everything Mags threw at them.
With only 1 minute left on the clock the ball was in Stevie’s hands. Some great distribution out to the right picked up by Ryan. A calm head on his shoulders he chose to go past his man and deliver a top quality ball across the box which Connor met perfectly to put the scores level at 2-2..... the crowd went wild both on the touchline and abroad and it was fitting that one Kennedy did the business for the other!!
A well deserved point in a game they never deserved to lose.
All boys were awarded MOTM.
2-2.
