It was the game that has been anticipated for weeks but due to adverse weather this mouthwatering encounter was rolled. With conditions barely above freezing and the pitch heavy from the last few weeks of rain it wasn't going to be an easy day.
With the boys warmed up and the sun shining the ref got the game underway. It was an immediate sense of attack as Harry pursued the ball relentlessly up top spurred on by a feisty Roma support.

Against the run of play SCM attacked with 2 on 1 and a fine pass cut out John at the back leaving it 1 on 1 with Sam, a sweet strike was sailing into the back of the net had it not been for an incredible diving save from Sam. 0-0.

It was a blistering attack down the left from Harry that had the SCM Whites defence in tatters, a shot from wide found itself nestling in the back of the net after a deflection. Roma 1-0.

Roma were on fire with attack after attack and with fire in his belly Ryan came close with some superb runs into the box. The midfield maestro JP was commanding down the left leaving the opposition under no uncertain terms that they were in a game. Minutes later the ball fell to Kaden who battled through a poked a shot that fizzed past the post, on another day that would have sneaked in. Roma continued to pressure with the introduction of Joe from the subs bench although occasionally being caught out it was the might of John who stopped every attack dead in its tracks, you could sense SCM knew it wasn't going to the their day.

As the sun raised itself further into the cold morning sky Harry raised his efforts further with an outstanding run to pressure SCM defence into an own goal. The Roma fans went mental. 2-0.

As the half grew the efforts of Kaden were so fine that he was given time to catch his breath and the game saw Tinashe enter the field. Within minutes the ball fell kindly in the box for him to score a poachers goal, the celebration was exquisite to make a delirious mood amongst the Roma players and fans. 3-0. Dreamland.

The second half was played at an equally frantic pace with sole defender John cutting out attack after attack with so much ease it felt like he was having a stroll in the park. Roma never let their work rate down however SCM managed to squeeze in a deflected shot. 3-1.

With an attack from the Roma boys the ball pinged around the box after being delivered like a laser guided missile from the right foot of Ryan, it fell sweetly to Alfie and whilst the whole world stopped he went to strike it but was blocked and the ball was cleared. Alfie's excellent work rate deserved the ball hitting the back of the net.

A further attack from SCM with 10 minutes to go saw the ball bundled in after a controversial handball from the striker not being given by the ref. VAR didn't have a camera available to view the incident so the goal was given. 3-2.

The final 10 saw the boys dig deep and SCM prodded and probed but eventually the ref blew for full time.

After the last game v SCM Whites where they won comfortably 5-2 against an indifferent Roma this felt particularly sweet and it shows hardwork on the pitch pays off massively.

2 wins in 2 for Roma.

MoM Harry and John which was decided by the players as manager Andy couldn't pick between them all.
