Vs Sporting Club Merseyside Blues
A bright and sunny Saturday morning was a very welcomed setting for today's encounter with SCM Blues. The previous meeting saw Roma run out 9-2 winners back in October.
After news of a Litherland win vs Mags Fire in the earlier kick-off, Roma knew a win could put the league back into their hands.
The first chance of the match saw Cal just unable to latch onto a great through ball as the SCM keeper came out quickly.
SCM's first chance saw a mistake at the back ending with the ball being put into an empty net 0-1.
Roma applied the pressure immediately as Gibbo was put through only for the keeper to save down to his right.
Another chance down the right for Gibbo but his shot hits the side netting.
Roma are found bickering between themselves and a lack of concentration allowed SCM through again but, Noah saw it early and dealt with it well.
Another chance went begging as Gibbo put it over the bar from close range.
Scotty delivered a wonderful cross from a free kick, finding Dylan's head but he couldnt keep the ball under the bar.
SCM went straight down the other end and put it wide but 5 Roma players were caught walking rather than tracking back. A rallying cry of positivity amongst the team seemed to get heads back focused.
Roma started again from the back and unleased a quick break, Dylan finding the final touch to level, 1-1
Alfie did excellently at the back playing Gibbo down the right. He used his strength to shake off his man before flying into the box. The keeper saved well but the ball fell straight to Cal who found the back of the net with a tap in, 2-1.
Noah pulled off a good save down low to prevent a certain SCM goal.

Roma started quickly and Caff had a chance, he lobbed the ball high across the box but the keeper pulled off a smart save to deny him.
Caff didn't allow that to stop him though, as he went straight back on the attack and scored a great LEFT footed goal across the keeper! 3-1
Roma went quick on the press again with Gibbo pulling the ball across the face of the goal, Caff hitting the post and forcing a corner.
The resulting corner was played short between Dylan and Cal. Some quick passing to Gibbo and he found Dan who put it in the bottom corner, 4-1
Roma attack again as Gibbo shook off his man and scored in the bottom corner, 5-1
Roma got a free kick in their own half. Ball was played short to Cal who fired a line splitting pass over the top, Gibbo latched on and got his 2nd of the day!! 6-1
Some scrappy play followed as SCM were trying to get back into the game.
Roma were awarded an indirect free kick from a pass back. What followed was an absolute comedy performance...... no fewer than 5 Roma players ran over the ball to dummy, Caff eventually touched it off to Dyl but SCM blocked well.
SCM had a rare chance from a throw in but Stevie was quick out and the ball was put over the bar.
A great switch of play and Connor kept the ball alive, he played in to Riley who shot from outside the box. The SCM defender tried to clear with his head but the ball flew into the top corner, 7-1.!!!!
Riley almost scored a worldie from outside the box on the next attack as he caught the ball sweet only for it to just drop over the bar.
Alfie, having a few minutes up top, was played in from a huge throw by Dylan, the SCM keeper saved really well to deny him his goal.
Foley, with the last kick of the game, took a free kick from distance. He drilled it and skimmed the wrong side of the post.
Full time, 7-1.
MOTM - Noah, some big and important saves in the first half and well taken distribution.
