Fantastic all round display from the boys today! From the 1st kick they was pressing the opposition, causing them to make mistakes. This continued for the whole game and something the manager will now be demanding every game from now on.
Solid in defence and fluent in attack.
The 1st goal of the game went to Roma, fantastic vision from Caleb who saw young Ellis make a fantastic run towards the box. The pass was a little too heavy but Ellis’s run across the goalkeeper was enough to put him off and the ball trickle into the net.
More great play from the lads forced their keeper to dig deep and make some fantastic saves to keep the Roma boys at bay. JJ LA Galaxy got a foot on the ball for the last 5 minutes of the 1st half in which they was able to score to goals. Unfortunately Roma went into half time 1-2.
A strong team talk by the manager was given full of praise after the amazing 1st half display and loads of encouragement the the second half.
The second half began and straight away a lucky goal was conceded. Instead of letting their heads drop the boys took a deep breath and gave all the parents a half to remember. More solid tackles from Georgie and Lucas led to even better, calmer passing out from the back to get the attacks flowing. The listening from those 2 boys was excellent.
Pressing high once again caused an error and Mitchell slots home his 1st of the game. More good play from Kellen who covered every blade of grass today led to Mitchell scoring his 2nd of the game. What happened next was an onslaught of chances for the Roma boys. JJ LA Galaxy's keeper was called into action once again as the chances flowed, giving a corner away. Caleb and Kellen come up with a great tactical corner allowing Mitchell to bag his hat trick!
JJ LA Galaxy have a goal kick, Mitchell and Ellis press and tackle high up the pitch before Mitchell scores a thunderous strike, picking up a £20 scoring bonus from his dad for all his efforts. A corner comes and Caleb drills it into the box, it hits the keeper and it’s game set and match. 6-3 to the Roma boys. A dodgy free kick given against the excellent Georgie allowed Markus to make a world class save! Caught on video by his mum, defo a save for his tik tok highlight reel.
