Excellent win today on a 'heavy' pitch. Underhand tactics of not providing changing facilities did not pay off for the home team.

The early goal rattled the home team with an early sin bin for their CB. Our attackers put pressure on Marshall full backs with some fiesty tackles from both sides.

Took the lead from a lovely deep freekick which challenged the keeper and ultimately ended up crossing the line. Marshalls levelled the scoreline with a great solo goal from Marshalls number 20 and a clean finish.

Then ROMA took control with Liam Thomas holding off his defender and slotting a great left foot shot.

Third ROMA goal come through a corner delivery which fell to our first goal scorer Tom Bratin who composed himself well to comfortably lob the wandering goalkeeper.

Second half 3-1 instruction from the gaffa was to keep it tight.

Introduction of Ola was paying dividends with the youngster controlling the ball well and bypassing defenders with ease.

Scrappy second half with both teams battling hard for each other.

3-2!! again great goal.from.Marshalls striker with a great finish under pressure.

Last 5 mins, Marshalls were pushing for that crucial equaliser. Gratefully the final whistle was blown.

Excellent team performance from the boys. With manager Daniel Patterson commenting how proud he was of the performance.

EXEC SUMMARY. Pitch spoilt the game but Marshall U23s had some good play but was limited to few chances due to strong defending by ROMA's back line.
