In 2017 there were 4 distinct football clubs in Tadcaster, Tadcaster Albion Seniors, Tadcaster Albion Juniors, Tadcaster Magnets Senior and Tadcaster Magnets Juniors.

Tadcaster Albion Seniors were a limited Company playing at Step 5 in the Football pyramid. All other teams were unincorporated clubs.

In late 2017 merger discussions commenced between the two separate Tadcaster Magnets clubs.

In the summer of 2018 Tadcaster Albion Juniors opened discussion with the two Magnets Clubs and an agreement was reached that the three clubs should merge to form one community club in the town.

The objective to ensure that football could be provided for all age groups and skill levels under the umbrella of a single club structure

The club is now affiliated to the West Riding County Football Association as TADCASTER FOOTBALL CLUB. To differentiate between the senior and junior elements and to preserve the heritage of the respective clubs, the senior teams will be known as “Tadcaster Magnets” and the Juniors, “Tadcaster Juniors”

The merger was completed in the summer of 2019.
